Provenance: European private collection The artist of the present composition seems to have belonged to the circle of Ghirlandaio, his work reflecting the decorative Florentine tradition of the mid-15th century. His later works, including the present painting, show increasingly conspicuous allusions to Perugino’s style. We are grateful to Prof. Alessandro Tomei for confirming the attribution and assisting us in cataloguing this work.
We are grateful to Dottor Andrea G. De Marchi for having confirmed the attribution of the present painting having examined it in the original.
